Andrej Martin made the final in Lima, won doubles!

Andrej Martin, Hans Podlipnik-Castillo, Lima, Peru, challenger

Slovakian tennis player recently joined EMPIRE Tennis Academy and he did not wait long for first achievements. In his second clay challenger in South America, in Lima, Andrej Martin made the final in singles and won the doubles along with Hans Podlipnik-Castillo.

Andrej Martin is currently in South America, playing series of five clay challengers. Lima Challenger - Copa Claro 2015 was his second, with total prize money of 50 000 USD.

Last week Andrej Martin played in Santiago, where he made the doubles final together with Hans Podlipnik Castillo. From Santiago, he moved to Lima, Peru. Andrej Martin seems to be enjoying the conditions in South America, as he made another good result in Peru. Singles final and doubles title are great results.

Andrej Martin beat home wild card player Juan Pablo Varillas in first round in two sets 6-1, 6-3. In second round, he met with his doubles partner, Chilean Hans Podlipnik Castillo. Slovak player was the more successful one as he beat his friend after dramatic three sets 6-7(5), 6-4, 6-4. In the quarterfinals Martin played Ecuadorian Emilio Gomez and it was a straight forward win in two sets 6-2, 6-1. In the semifinals, Martin played another drama, against José Hernández from Dominican Republic. Close three sets in favour of Andrej Martin mean, he had opportunity to fight for the first title this year in South America. "I really enjoy playing here in South America. In Chile at first challenger I was not confident enough and could not find the rhythm yet, however after my win against Hans here, I started to believe in myself and the played more relaxed tennis. I enjoy tennis again and I am confident I can achieve more positive results in the upcoming days," said Andrej Martin for www.empire-tennis-academy.com.

Andrej Martin lost the final against Portuguese Gastao Ellias in two sets 2-6, 6-7(4).

Andrej Martin together with Hans Podlipnik Castillo also played the doubles final in Lima against Roberio Dutra Silva/Joao Souza. They did their best to beat Brazilian pair in two sets 6-3, 6-4 and they achieved their fourth doubles title together after their wins in Ostrava, Bielle and Liberec.
