Andrej Martin has a new coach, he wants to be in the Top 100 in long term

Andrej Martin, new coach, Peter Miklusicak

Andrej Martin, an EMPIRE Trnava Tennis Academy member is since December 2016 training in cooperation with his new tennis coach, Peter Miklusicak, the former coach of Dominika Cibulkova. Martin’s preparation needs new impetus which this change should bring about in order to allow him to get into ATP world’s top ranked players.

Andrej Martin’s former coach Miloslav Grolmus from EMPIRE Tennis Academy led him to a third round win of Roland Garros and also to the ATP singles final at the Umag tournament in Croatia. "I would like to again thank my former coach, Miloslav Grolmus for the great work in the 2016 season where I experienced some wonderful victories. I would also like to thank my club, TC EMPIRE Trnava for its help and willingness in the new coach selection and engagement process," said Andrej Martin for www.empire-tennis-academy.com.
"Although slightly delayed, I would like to introduce my new coach, Peter Miklusicak, a new member of the EMPIRE Tennis Academy. We only began our preparation for the new season in December, 2016. I am looking forward to our future cooperation. I believe I will experience a lot of fine moments in the new season that will lead to a permanent Top 100 placement," said Martin.

Peter Miklusicak: We are setting up the team

Peter Miklusicak will try to do his best for Martin’s progress. "When Andrej played at the ATP challenger in Budapest, he had already parted with Grolmus and he asked me to go there with him. So I went there. After the loss we talked about the match and we found a common view of things that needed improvement. He then asked me to be his coach and to travel with him around the world. It just started by coincidence," said Miklusicak. Their goals for the new season are really interesting. "I expect that as a result of our cooperation, Andrej’s move into the TOP 100 in the world won’t be for a short time only but to be a permanent member of this elite group. The next goal is to reach the TOP 50 in the world. We are setting up the team around Martin. We are trying to be more professional in terms of preparation. I want to relieve him from a lot of the things that he has been doing alone so far. I see huge potential in Andrej  to improve which is why I am really looking forward to working with him," added Peter Miklusicak.

Andrej Martin will start the 2017 season in Melbourne at the Australian Open singles qualifiers, where he is heading on the 3rd of January.
