Belinda Bencic triumphs in Hua Hin in Thailand

Belinda Bencic from EMPIRE Tennis Aademy showed she has overcome her injury problems with victory at the Hua Hin Championships.

The former world number seven defeated Hsieh Su-wei 6-3 6-4 to cap a fine week at the 125k WTA event in Thailand. Belinda Bencic returned to action in September following surgery on her left wrist and the Swiss has since started her climb back up the rankings.

In just the fourth tournament of her comeback after being sidelined for five months, the 20-year-old Swiss won her second title, having also won the ITF $100,000 event in Saint Petersburg, Russia to kickstart her return in September. The former World No.7 dropped just one set all week - the opener in the quarterfinals against Vitalia Diatchenko before winning in three - and defeated No.6 seed Ana Bogdan and No.4 seed Hsieh in the last two rounds to win the title.

Sunday's win over the fourth seed Hsieh saw the 20-year-old seal her third WTA Tour title.
