Coach Platenik: Fitness coach Molnar and physiotherapist Durecova take the biggest part on Daria's success in Charleston

EMPIRE Tennis Academy Head coach Vladimir Platenik with his trainee Daria Kasatkina reached in American Charleston first career WTA singles title on the circuit. Personal coach reveals a secret of this success.

Daria Kasatkina will get back to top 30 in the WTA rankings and she will be seeded at second Grand Slam of the year in Rolland Garros. „Winning the tournament is always great feeling. Especially after two and a half years of a daily hard work when you finally find a way how to succeed. It’s feeling of satisfaction and reward for a hard work given by whole team to tennis," said Vladimir Platenik for www.empire-tennis.academy.com
After the tournaments in Australia Vladimir Platenik was not satisfied with Daria's performance, they had a couple of team meetings. "I decided to change some things. Fitness coach Maros Molnar and physiotherapist Jana Durecova from Molfit  take the biggest part on Daria's success in Charleston, they were working hard with Daria during the 2 weeks in Indian Wells. We set daily nourishment, other daily routine. She worked a lot and changed the match preparation. Since November last year we were on a wrong way but from this year Australia tourney I changed it. Last 5-6 weeks it goes the right way - fitness training, professionalism and nourishment. Concerning the game, coaching, tactics, it's a bit more difficult. When it affects the psychology, game strategy is broken down," said Platenik.

She feels like a fish in a water on clay

Vladimir Platenik hopes Daria will continue in good performances on clay. "She feels like a fish in a water there. It’s her surface. However, there are many other good players there. Clay surface in Europe is quite fast, either in Madrid or at Roland Garros. We have to continue with hard work, we needn’t rest on one's laurels. Of course, it's encouragement but women's tennis is very equal. We can’t rest now and think it will come from its own. We must keep the mode we recently set up. I hope the clay court season will be successful. It will be less pressure on her in terms of points defense. It's just about preparation and keeping the discipline from Daria’s side," added EMPIRE Tennis Academy head coach Vladimir Platenik.
