Dubrivnyy successful in Linz despite problems

Artem Dubrivnyy spent last week playing in Linz, Austria at prestigious Simacek ITF Junior Open 2015. Member of EMPIRE Tennis Academy, coached by Vladimir Platenik, reached semi-finals in singles.

Simacek ITF Junior Open Linz 2015 was played on clay courts and it is category 1 event, second highest after grand slams. Artem Dubrivnyy lost on his winning way to quarterfinals only seven games in three matches in singles. In the 3rd round, he beat sixth seed Swiss Marko Osmakcic. In quarterfinals he fought hard with Italian Dallo Valle and he came out as the winner yet again. In semi-finals he was up against seventh seed, French Humbert. This was his maximum, as he fell short in three sets, 0-6, 6-3, 6-7(2).

"Of course, we are talking about another great result for Artem. Unfortunately Artem was limited by two factors. Week before the tournament he twisted his ankle, luckily we managed to make him feel as comfortable as possible. He felt pain at his serve and he was struggling with stomach pain as well. However he showed great fighting spirit. No doubts, we are on the right track. I hope, Artem will still keep improving," said about Artem Dubrivnyy’s performance in Linz head coach Vladimir Platenik. "This tournament also showed strength of our team. I could not be in Linz on Thursday because of personal reasons, however I had perfect replacement in Rene Hanak, who was also coaching Artem on Saturday in the semi-final. Then I had to leave for Bad Gastein to see and coach Darya Kasatkina," added Vladimir Platenik.
