Ergi Kirkin, new member of an EMPIRE Tennis Academy, shocked at a famous event

Only 17 years old Turkish tennis player Ergi Kirkin was playing at Eddie Herr ITF tennis tournament held in Florida, USA, being supported by his coach Miloslav Grolmus from an EMPIRE Tennis Academy. This event is in the junior tennis hierarchy just after the grand-slams. Kirkin has already advanced to the semi-finals, where he met the No. 1 seeded player.

Ergi Kirkin was number 12 seed at this clay court event in the USA. He was already number 42 in the ITF junior combined ranking, currently is ranked number 50. In the first 3 rounds he step by step defeated 3 Americans: Drew Baird in the 1st, Timothy Sah in the 2nd and 7th seeded local man Sam Riffice in the 3rd round, then in the quarterfinals after the fight he knocked out of the tournament number 13 seed Philippines’ Alberto Lim.

Coach Miloslav Grolmus said after the semifinals: "There are still a lot of things that require work and improvement. I was surprised; however, that he always played his best tennis at important stages of a match. Kirkin defeated players from top thirty and top fifty, that means not easy opponents. It's really surprise for me since it is one of the biggest tournaments in the world. Next he plays against the world number one because almost the entire world junior elite is playing here in Florida. Reaching semi-finals is really a good result and good motivation for the Orange Bowl and for the next season. This is his best result of the season so far, and I'm glad to be part of it right now. His benefits are: very excellent service, quick feet and the fact that he obeys an every single word I say brings a perfect cooperation between us."

Then in the semifinals he was playing against a world number one Miomir Kecmanovic. Ergi lost after a long battle 1-6, 6-4, 3-6.

Ergi Kirkin after reaching semi-finals will be moved from number 50 to approx. number 35 in the world, according to the reduced rankings in a 2017 approx number 20 in a the world junior rankings.
