Five EMPIRE Tennis Academy players at Rio Olympics, Kasatkina & Svitolina into the quarterfinals, Martin advanced to the 3rd round

EMPIRE Tennis Academy, Rio, Olympics

International Tennis Federation released list of players, who are competing at the Olympic Games in Rio, starting on August, 6 in Brazil. Matches were played on hard courts, Greenset Grand Prix Cushion Type. Both players, Daria Kasatkina and Elina Svitolina advanced to the singles quarterfinals, Andrej Martin reached third round!

Andrej Martin, Igor ZelenayDaria Kasatkina, Elina Svitolina and Hans Podlipnik-Castillo. These five players from EMPIRE Tennis Academy were playing at the upcoming Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

Andrej Martin represents Slovakia in singles and doubles; he was partnering Igor Zelenay. "Dream comes true for me, a big honour. Last year, I hoped I could maybe play singles at the Olympics, but I am happy to compete there in doubles. Representing your country at the Olympics is the biggest honour for an athlete, I am looking forward to it," said Andrej Martin for www.empire-tennis-academy.com.

Daria Kasatkina and Elina Svitolina were playing for Russia and Ukraine in singles, but Svitolina were also partnering Savchuk in doubles and Kasatkina was  with Kuznetsova. Svitolina and Savchuk lost in the first round to the Czech pair.

Daria Kasatkina beat Jabeur, Zheng and Errani and advanced to the quarter-final. "It was a difficult match, Sara is a very good player. She doesn’t make mistakes and has very good move on the court. And I lost to her one year ago so I’m happy that I won today. It’s a very special feeling to be a part of Olympics and to enjoy every minute here," said Kasatkina after her win against Errani from Italy. Then she lost to Madison Keys of USA.

Chilean Hans Podlipnik-Castillo played doubles in Rio alongside Julio Peralta, but they lost in the first round.
