Jancovic: Banczi is capable to reach ITF Top 500, season starts in Senec

Viktor Banczi

The 2015 season can be divided into two parts for junior member of EMPIRE Tennis Academy Viktor Banczi. First one was influenced by injuries, second was much better and he earned important points into the ITF ranking. Now time has come to set higher goals.

Viktor Banczi, coached by Juraj Jancovic, is at the moment No. 1028 in the junior ITF combined ranking. He has 36,25 points on his tally, earning most points by reaching singles quarterfinals in Netherlands and Albania. There is no one in his age (born in 2000) in Slovakia with more points. "It is pity we missed half of the season because of injury. In the beginning of the year, he played great at both national championships (reached last 4 of U16 singles and quarterfinals of U18 singles), but then it turned out to be a very difficult period for Viktor. However he ended up season well, I am happy, that he is at the moment doing so well, he will play main draws of the Grade 4 and 5 junior tournaments," said Juraj Jancovic for www.empire-tennis-academy.com.

Viktor Banczi battled with shoulder injury first half of the year, now he is doing alright. "Shoulder injury seems to be sorted, Viktor does not complain about any pain."

Viktor Banczi will start the new season at Slovak Junior Indoor 2016 (Grade 2) in Senec, then he travels to Oberpullendorf to play at Sport Hotel Kurz Junior Classic (Grade 4). Then the plan suggests playing at home U16 Championship. What are the ambitions in the ranking for next season? "It is more difficult to set goals with boys. It is easier with girls, I have to say. We would like to reach top 500. He needs to play his matches relaxed, because he is capable of reaching it with his game. At times, he feels too much responsibility on his shoulders. Of course there are aspects of game, which need work on. He has got good standard, until he starts to limit himself. He is very aggressive, plays on level with everyone," added coach Juraj Jancovic.
