Daria Kasatkina plays under supervision of her coach Vladimir Platenik at WTA tournament Kremlin Cup by Bank of Moscow, with total prize money 702 900 USD. It is category Premier and is played on hard court at the Olympic stadium in Moscow.

Daria Kasatkina was successful in first three qualifying rounds. First she beat Ukrainian Kateryna Kozlova 6-2, 6-4, in second round her compatriot Anna Kalinskaya 6-4, 6-3. In the final round of the qualifying, she played on Monday morning against Pole Paula Kania, 22-years old and No. 141 in the WTA rankings. Daria beat her convincingly 6-2, 6-1. "Together with Daria we try to get used to playing indoors. She is not confident indoors; we are still trying to find the best strategy. In the second qualifying round she played better and I hope she can improve match by match. She is bit under pressure, because she needs good results to be directly in the main draw of the Australian Open, which does not help us either," commented coach Vladimir Platenik directly from Moscow.

Pole Paula Kania reached the main draw as lucky looser and again met Daria Kasatkina in the firstround. Member of EMPIRE Tennis Academy won again, yet it was much more dramatic match. After winning 7-5, 2-6, 6-3 she went on to take Romanian Begu, No. 29 in the world. Kasatkina won in three sets 6-3, 3-6, 6-3. "Today it was finally solid. Not great yet, but Daria played much better than in previous matches. It was equal, Daria made less mistakes than Begu, more solid. She managed to put her opponent under pressure,” evaluated Vladimir Platenik

Daria Kasatkina beat the world No. 14 Spaniard Suarez-Navarro in the quarterfinals on Thursday and won in just 58 minutes 6-1, 6-2. "Daria brought the best performance today that I've ever seen. After the quarterfinal match with Begu, she understood where she made mistakes, and now everything works. Of course, I believed in the back of the soul that she can win. After all, all players are just flesh and blood," said coach Vladimir Platenik after quarterfinal success. Daria Kasatkina then lost to Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in the semi-final 6-2, 2-6, 4-6, but she has achieved the best results in her career and she is going to be No. 73 in the WTA rankings!

Daria Kasatkina won even in doubles along with compatriot Elena Vesnina and they played doubles final which they won against Begu/Niculescu 6-3, 6-7(7), 10-5!
