Kasatkina with the title from Caserta

Darya Kasatkina, Vladimir Platenik, ITF title, Caserta, Italy

The member of EMPIRE Tennis Academy Darya Kasatkina, who is coached in Trnava by Vladimir Platenik, has achieved another success. On clay in Italian town of Caserta, she won her fourth ITF title, dominating the $25K singles event.

With 50 points after winning the title at INTERNAZIONALI FEMMINILI DI TENNIS CITTA'DI CASERTA, Kasatkina will move in the new WTA ranking up to career-high No. 213. In the semi-finals of the $25K tournament, she beat Bulgarian Shinikova in the semi-finals on Friday in three sets 6-3, 4-6, 6-4. On Saturday she succeeded in the final against Ipek Soylu of Turkey 7-6(4), 6-1. "Of course, it is a great feeling. Darya deserved the title for all the hard work. We came here to play as many matches as possible, which we achieved. Winning the title is added value. Of course, there is still room for improvement, but we are improving step by step, so I am satisfied," said her coach Vladimir Platenik, who was with her in Caserta. Kasatkina now leaves for Moscow for another 25K event.
