Vivien Juhaszova in the semi-final in Italy!

Vivien Juhaszova, ITF, Italy, Benasco

EMPIRE Tennis Academy Vivien Juhaszova played after the EMPIRE Women’s Indoor at 25K event called SGE Women‘ s International Tournament in Italy. After getting through the qualifying into the main draw, she reached the singles semi-final!

Tournament played in Beinasco with prize money of 25K was played indoors on clay. Vivien Juhaszova, coached by Martin Durdik ranked No. 623, started in singles qualifying, from which made it into the main draw. There she beat wild card holder, Russian Marina Shamayko after her opponent retired at 1-6, 2-5 because of unspecified injury. Fourth seed, Polish Katarzyna Kawa, (No. 253. in the WTA rankings) was another opponent to beat for Vivien and our player proved great form to win in two sets 6-3, 6-4. "I knew my opponent well, I saw her playing yesterday. I knew what to expect. I did play according to our game plan and kept her under pressure. I played well especially in first set. I struggled a bit in the second set, she had several good strokes to find breathing space. I was 2-4 down, but I tried to stay positive and get back to the game I played in first set. I won all the remaining games to take the set 6-4," said Vivien Juhaszova for www.empire-tennis-academy.com.

Macedonian Lina Gjorcheska, ranked 323 in WTA, was her quarterfinal opponent. Vivien Juhaszova lost with her previously in 2012 in Serbia. However this time, Slovakian player took the match in two sets 7-5, 7-5. What’s even more inspiring, she was down 1-5 in each set. "We made a good game plan. In the beginning it was very nervous. I was down 1-4, but all games were played through deuces, it could have easily gone 4-1 for me. Then she won the next game, 5-1 up and her concentration betrayed her. I took the advantage, started winning more points and it was the same scenario in second set," said Juhaszova.

Jessica Pieri, WTA No. 495, was the opponent for Vivien Juhaszova and the player that stopped the incredible run of Slovakian player after three sets 6-3, 3-6, 6-3.

Vivien Juhaszova will earned 19 points into the WTA rankings.
