"I started to play tennis when I was 7 years old. When I first came to court, it was just for fun. My mother told me that I can go play, meet guys, friends. And I said ok, I'm going. After a year, I asked mom if I could play steadily and she agreed. Until now, it's a lot of fun and mom travels with me around the world."

"I remember my first victory very well. It was at the tournament in my hometown of Taganrog, which is about 70 km far away from Rostov-on-Don. It was a tournament for children under 10 years. I was very happy that I could hold that cup. In winter 2014, I was finalist and semifinalist at the ITF junior tournaments in Israel. Before these tournaments, I was training in Trnava."

"I really like Trnava. I came here for the first time in September 2014. It is a new, interesting experience to me and a nice change. I wanted to play in the EMPIRE Tennis Academy and I tried it by myself. I can confirm that I have made the right move. There are more players here and we all want to be better. I respect my coach Vladimir Platenik and I'm delighted that there are a lot of guys for sparring in the club, I can compare my game with theirs. It is better than in Russia."

Vladimir Platenik: "Artem is a very talented boy. He knows how to play variety of types of shots and he plays in a very intelligent way for his age. Maybe, for my taste, he could play a little more active, but, of course, I have to adapt the game and training to his mentality. He is still very young and therefore it is tough for him to play against older players beat them. Fortunately, he knows how to work hard."
