"I've started play tennis at six, almost when I was seven years old. When I first came to training, I run away because I had a strict coach. It was not easy to start. I had a moment when I also wanted to play football, but I finally chose tennis. It was my decision. My first coach was Zdeno Karel, then I was coached by his son Patrik until 15. My father Robert also played tennis, but not for long. He travelled with me to the tournaments until I was 16, he helped me, he advised me. He understands the game of tennis."

"I often played "Searching for the young Olympic players" tournaments (in original: “Hľadáme tenisových olympionikov, HTO) in Slovakia, tournaments under 9 year of age in that time and I used to win a lot. I've achieved my first big success in Paris. I won the U12 ETA tournament in January 2008. I was the second in the U14 ETA Ranking in May 2010, at the end of the year I've placed sixth. We were finalists at the U14 Winter Cup where our team won silver medals in Ascoli, Italy. When I was 16 years old, I became singles Slovak champion at the U18 Indoor Championship. I picked up my first ATP point in the 2013 season at the Futures tournament in Trnava where I advanced to the singles second round."

"In Samorin, there wasn't much space for improvement, because there were no sparring partners. I came to Trnava in 2013 because it's close to Samorin and we've agreed to work with a coach Miloslav Grolmus. He also had a plan to go here, so I've become a member of this club. In the EMPIRE Tennis Academy I'm training with Kamil Capkovic and Miloslav Grolmus. I live here during the week and I go home at the weekends. There are excellent conditions here and I feel the improvement of my tennis game."

Kamil Capkovic: "Oliver has always been a talented player. He is combative on the court, has good service and strong forehand. In the winter 2013, he had a great preparation, but then he basically had played for a year because of health problems. Then he started with full training and he has managed it. He doesn't need basic tennis advice, but information about higher levels of the tournaments. We're talking about what kind of players are there, what type of tennis is played - especially at Futures and Challenger tournaments in order to fulfill his ambition to reach and stay at the ATP level."
