Stara has the most valuable title, she won 1st Grade tournament in Kazan, Cierny with triumph in Poland

TC EMPIRE Trnava and EMPIRE Tennis Academy member Lenka Stara has recorded her biggest success in her career, as she won Yeltsin Cup in Russia. Stara, who is coached by Martin Durdik, has won her third title, but for the first time in Grade 1 category. The successful weekend of the Trnava junior tennis was completed by David Cierny and Janos Fekete effort, who played for the title in Poland.

Lenka Stara (also her club-mate Nina Stankovska with the coach Rene Hanak came to play in Russia) grabbed her third junior trophy, but this one is her best results yet, because the last two triumphs came from lower grade tournaments in 2017 – in Oberpullendorf in January and Trnava in March.
Kazan tournament has category Grade 1, just one grade lower than junior grandslam tournaments. Stara has won 150 points for the ITF Combined Rankings. "I enjoyed the whole tournament. We played in a beautiful setting club, they took care of us very well. I played better and better with concentration. To be honest, we have been following a variety of traditions such as pancakes for breakfast. It was good decision. I will fly to home with the title," said with the smile Slovak tennis player Lenka Stara. She beat in the final home girl Kamilla Rakhima (No. 39 in the ranking) in three sets: 6-4, 3-6, 6-1.
The ceremony after the final was attended also by the wife of the former, deceased Russian president Yeltsin, Naina Yeltsina. She handed the prizes and congratulate to Slovak winner.
And it was not enough from Lenka Stara. She has played also doubles semifinal with Hungarian Adrienn Nagy. It means another 50 points to the ranking and with this points Lenka Stara should move to Top 40.

David Cierny beat Fekete in the final

Other members from Trnava club travelled with the coach Peter Vlk to Poland to play Angie Cup – five grade category tournament in the town Puszczykowo. The best results came from David Cierny and Janos Fekete. Both have reached the finals, where was better Cierny. He won 6-1, 6-1. "I produced good performances throughout the tournament. As long as I played on this surface, I played better and better. It was fast court, so I need time to adapt. My biggest trouble came during quarterfinal, where I started bad and was not able to come back. But since the beginning of the second set, it was better. I played actively, with good service, solid pace. Good service helped me a lot, I have gained more self-confidence. As about the final, it was not such an easy game as the result says. But as I said, I feel confidence because of my service and Janos not. And I used it," said Cierny after the final.
He played also double final with Ukrainian Yeremenko. The pair Janos FeketeAdam Arbet has played the doubles semifinal.
